Sedgemoor Tree Services are a small friendly arboriculture and countryside management business based on the doorstep of the Quantock Hills and Somerset levels. Established in 2005, the business offers a range of domestic and commercial arboriculture and habitat maintenance services as well as small civil engineering and landscaping projects.

**About The Role**

We are a small team looking for an experienced, competent, and enthusiastic Office Administrator to work alongside our busy team of managers.

The role will support a number of areas of the business including our:

- Domestic and Commercial arboriculture (tree surgery) works,
- Habitat maintenance on a nationally important major infrastructure project
- Small Civil Engineering projects, all carried out across Somerset.
- Employee onboarding, ensuring that all employee onboarding related documents are correctly
- Responsible for payroll, and ensuring all PAYE details
- Assist to review and maintain all HR policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
- Handle annual projects such as performance appraisal, salary review, service contract renewal
- Use of Xero accounting software to create purchase orders and invoices to ensure accurate data entry of finance records
- Monitor expenditure and purchase approvals
- Cash flow reports
- Reconciling the monthly petty cash against expenditure
- Provision of a professional telephone service during office hours.
- Booking training
- Administration support to all management and team leaders, photocopying, ordering supplies, and general queries
- Coordinate the office, including stationary order and other procurement items, inventory control and maintenance of office equipment and facilities
- Responsible for the facility register and ensuring compliance with the health and safety policy
- Providing administrative support to the management team as required
- Assist with ordering materials, hiring equipment and pre project administration support

**Qualification & Experience**:
**Essential**
- 5 GCSE qualifications at levels A-C, including English and Math’s
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, experience in education setting will be a definite advantage
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles with sound numeracy/literacy skills
- Appropriate training in the use of ICT packages, including Microsoft, Xero and financial systems
- An excellent knowledge of Excel is essential
- A valid driving license
- Ability to priorities workload and to work to set deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills including, in particular, confidentiality and effective communication
- Eager to learn and take up new challenges
- Enthusiasm with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Must hold or pass a DBS check
- We are a highly operational business, which requires a dynamic approach to the working day. The ability to manage change is essential.

**Desirable**
- Level 3 Administration qualification
- Xero accounting qualification / training
- Bookkeeping qualifications
- Business management qualifications
- **IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY IS HIGHLY PREFERRED**
