**HR & Payroll Assistant**

**Kettering**

**Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs**

**Salary £23-25k DOE**

Our well known client is recruiting an HR & Payroll Assistant on a permanent basis to provide administrative HR and Payroll operational support for the company. Working in a small team, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

- Reporting : Headcount - HR Metrics - Health and Safety Metrics
- sickness reporting etc
- Compliance : Managing car allowance compliance checks - Fleet Administration - Escalation of non-conformance to HR Manager where required
- Payroll : Undertaking payroll activity - Coordinate payroll administration/reporting
- HRIS System : Managing day-to-day HR transactions and queries through HR Shared Mailbox, forwarding to HR Coordinator and HR Manager as required - Processing New Starters and leavers - Sickness management - Arrange for probation reviews/sign off
- Arranging for service awards
- Supporting the HR Coordinator with Recruitment Processes as required
- Undertaking any other duties that may be required to ensure the smooth running of the function including cover for HR Coordinator during their absence

About you...

The client is ideally looking for a graduate,with at least 2 years' previous experience within an HR environment, although previous relevant experience will be considered. The main focus of this position will be the payroll element, so you will have hadexposure to HR Payroll, with knowledge of things such as SSP, SMP bonus calculations, adding new starter and leaver information as required.

You will:

- Be IT literate with strong Excel knowledge and preferably some HRIS experience
- Possess a good attention to detail
- Be able to work well under pressure and be methodical and able to follow process.
- Possess strong communication skills at all levels - written and verbal
- Be able to prioritise your workload, cope with competing deadlines and be able to use your initiative.
- Understand the need for confidentiality, tact and discretion
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
