About the role:

- The Regional Organised Crime Unit for the West Midlands (ROCUWM) is a collaboration between the police forces of Staffordshire, West Midlands, West Mercia and Warwickshire to fight organised crime across the region.

The aim of the ROCUWM is to reduce the impact and increase the disruption of serious and organised crime within the region and beyond.

We target those areas of criminality that pose the greatest threats to the people and businesses of the West Midlands region. Working alongside other UK law enforcement agencies and many other partners from both private and public sectors, ROCUWM will directly influence the capabilities of these groups, stifling and reducing their criminal activity.

As part of ROCUWM Operations Investigation Team, you will have primary responsibility, as disclosure officer, for the investigation of the region’s most significant, serious, and organised crime. ROCUWM investigations utilise a wide range of overt and covert tactics. Your will:

- Be responsible for the examination and revelation of all relevant unused material gathered during the criminal investigation by means of accurate, comprehensive and ethical disclosure schedules
- Provide detailed descriptions of relevant used and unused material, making decisions as to the sensitivity in accordance with the Disclosure Manual and Attorney General Guidelines
- Be responsible for preparing material that meets the disclosure test
- Liaise with the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO), the Prosecutor and prosecuting Counsel in relation to disclosure issues
- Liaise with the Exhibits Officer on all matters surrounding disclosure of exhibits
- You will also support ‘’crime in action’’ investigations and be willing to perform on call duties.

**Essential **Skills & Experience**:

- Possess the Initial Crime Investigator Development Programme qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience of investigating serious and complex crime and able to evidence undertaking the

role of case/exhibits/disclosure/investigating officer
- Able to work effectively with limited supervision
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Evidence of adapting to a new environment and absorbing complex matters quickly and efficiently
- Demonstrate and exhibit high standards of integrity and professionalism
- Possess a valid UK driving licence and a basic police driving grade
- Security Clearance & Management Vetting is required for this position

**Desirable Skills & Experience**:

- Knowledge of RIPA legislation
- Experience of covert policing techniques
- Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model, together with the tasking and coordination process
- Standard and/or Advanced police driving grade

**Additional** information**:
The role requires the post holder to:

- pass Security Clearance and Management Vetting (condition of post being offered)
- perform duties on a regional basis
- be willing to perform ‘on call’ duties
- demonstrate a willingness to travel and be flexible when required; occasionally changing duties at short notice and
- taking account of individual circumstances, a willingness and flexibility to be available when required for call out at short notice
