Our School is one of the largest and most successful groupings of geographers, Earth and environmental scientists in the UK. This means we have some of the most interesting degrees to promote - imagine students atop frosty glaciers, snorkelling in a tropical reef or doing fancy high-tech things with flying drones.
- Help students discover degrees crucial to the climate crisis. We have numerous heavyweights in this area, with their work underpinning some of the most important international policy decisions in history
- Have you watched Jurassic World, David Attenborough's Prehistoric Planet series and Walking with Dinosaurs? Our students are learning from one of the finest dinosaur experts of our generation, who was involved in these productions.
- Find witches fascinating? Our student helped develop an interactive map of 4,000 accused witches in Scotland's history. Our love of data also helped the Scottish Government respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.

**The Opportunity**:
We'd love a forward-thinking, passionate marketing and communication strategist. You'll join our team to craft compelling campaigns that elevate our brand and recruit students to our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

This is a great 'all-rounder' position You'll get to boost your career skillset by gaining excellent experience sinking your teeth into all elements of the marketing mix. Events? Yep. Social media and content creation? Yep. Communications and branding? Yep. UK and international market reach? Yep. Market research and strategy? Absolutely.

You will also be encouraged to explore innovative ways to generate content. For example, while copywriting skills are key, you can also decide if a student TikTok video might work better - or how about an infographic?

The options are endless with so much going on. So, you'll need to know how to pick the best messages and strategies that reach target audiences for maximum impact.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Quick to learn, you have a versatile writing style and are able to produce impactful and engaging content. You know how to reach the right audiences with the right messaging for maximum effect.
- Marketing can involve a lot of trial and error, so you're comfortable embracing new trends and trying fun ideas to engage and delight potential students.
- Being a good 'all-rounder'. You could be producing a TikTok video one day or launching a student and parent event the next Since there's loads of opportunities for you to get involved, you have savvy organisational and project management skills.
- You're a people person You'll be great at this role if you enjoy building relationships with colleagues and are proactive in coordinating efforts across departments to pursue campaign opportunities.
- Results-driven, you've got a bit of analysis experience up your sleeve to measure and improve your work.

Website CMS and SEO knowledge is also helpful, plus language and grammar nerds who love to proofread (and have already identified how we could have made this posting better).

And don't worry - you won't need a science degree.
