**JOB TITLE: SENDAT REVIEW OFFICER**

**SALARY RANGE**:SP 16-20 (pending pay review)**

**CONTRACT: PERMANENT**

**WORKING ARRANGEMENTS: 37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year Monday**

**to Thursday: 08:30 to 16:30 Friday: 08:30 to 16:00 Includes 30 min**

**unpaid break each day**

Bases for this work are likely to be 2/3 of the following:

**LOCATION**:Main bases for working will be:

- Sunrise Academy, Carlton Colville
- Priory School, Bury St Edmunds
- Stone Lodge Academy, Ipswich
- Mulberry Cognition and Learning Unit, Mendlesham and Stowupland
- Peile Cognition and Learning unit, Ipswich

The post will be require travel to all sites with requirement to attend the Central office as required

(Thurston, Bury St Edmunds).

**CONTEXT**

The Special Educational Needs and Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi Academy Trust whose provisions support a range of needs including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autistic

Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health and Behavioural (SEMH) needs.

Our core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region.

**Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academy Trust (SENDAT)**

All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.

**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**

To manage and support the Trust’s admissions systems and procedures to ensure that students are placed in a setting which is appropriate to their special educational needs and disabilities and which will promote the best possible outcomes for their educational development.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**

Under the general guidance of the Review Manager:
1. Manage a case load for arranging Pupil Support Programme (PSP) packages and six-weekly review meetings with parents/carers and others parties involved.

2. Manage a case load for completing PEP for Children in care.

3. Actively participate in Annual Review meetings and Personal Education plan (PEP) meetings, acting as Chair when necessary

4. Liaise with SENDAT senior staff regarding transition planning for students moving to any

SENDAT provision.

5. Support the creation of bespoke packages to support the Local Authority placing students in appropriate local provision.

6. Collect reports and other paperwork and actively participate in review meetings, acting as Chair when required;
**GENERAL**

1. Actively contribute to and promote the overall ethos and values of SENDAT and its constituent

Schools/APs.

2. Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

3. Maintain consistent high standards of professional conduct, tact and diplomacy at all times in dealings with students, parents, staff colleagues, external agencies and any other visitors

4. Maintain absolute confidentiality and exercise discretion with regard to staff / student information and the Trust’s business at all times.

5. Act as an ambassador for SENDAT and its constituent Schools/APs within the local communities and beyond, ensuring that the ethos and values of the Trust are promoted and upheld at all times.

6. Undertake any other reasonable tasks and responsibilities as requested by Review Manager or other members of the Trust Leadership Group (TLG) which fall within the scope of the post.

**SAFEGUARDING AND SAFER RECRUITMENT**

1. SENDAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons at all times. The post holder under the guidance of the Review Manager, will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children with whom he/she comes into contact, in accordance with the Trust’s and the School’s Safeguarding policies.

2. The post holder is required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and

Barring Service (DBS).

3. The post holder is required to disclose to the school details of any Police warning, caution, bindover or conviction during relevant employment.
