An exciting opportunity has arisen within our tax department for a multi-skilled tax trainee, based within our office in Hadleigh, to work on a varied portfolio of clients including agriculture, owner managed businesses, private clients, trusts, and non-UK resident/domiciled clients.

We offer a structured training programme combining on the job training with professional exam qualifications you will need to develop your career in tax. Study support will be provided by us in addition to your salary.

**Exam qualifications**
You will initially study for the ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) qualification. Once you have completed the ATT qualification, there would be the opportunity to complete further studies such as completing the Chartered Institute of Taxation qualification and Society of Trust and Estate Planners qualification if desired.

**The Role**

Reporting to senior members of staff, the responsibilities include:

- Preparation of self-assessment personal tax returns and related tax calculations for individuals and partnerships, across a wide client base for review by a senior member of staff. Correspondence with clients, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and third parties as required.
- Preparation and completion of income and expenditure annual accounts for our self-employed clients, for review by a senior member of staff.
- Completion of Capital Gains Tax computations and returns, for review by a senior member of staff.
- Provide support to senior members of staff with ad hoc tax advisory projects, primarily across a variety of private client and owner managed business tax issues.
- Provide support in dealing with telephone calls, attendance at client meetings, including taking notes, where required.
- Dealing with day-to-day client and office administration.

**Skills Required**:

- GCSE grade 5 (C) or above in Mathematics and English.
- Educated to A-level standard, or equivalent.
- You will be interested in pursuing a career in taxation.
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be enthusiastic, self-motivated, commercially aware and have the ability to manage your own time and work to multiple deadlines.
- You will have excellent communication skills, including being able to communicate effectively with other team members, senior members of staff, third parties, and work well in a team.
- You will need to have great attention to detail and be able to work methodically and in a timely manner.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £11,750.00-£15,000.00 per year
