Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are looking for passionate, determined, and resilient individuals to join our amazing teams as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals.

This is an exciting alternative career option open to Registered Nurses and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' post qualification experience.

Custody is both a dynamic and lively environment, with no two days the same. The police can detain individuals for up to 24 hours and within this time, we provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes. Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assist the police with their investigations.

*Experience within Forensics is NOT NECESSARY. *As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the Police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

*Hours of Work*

The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of two day shifts, two night shifts then four days off.

*Duties*
- Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods).
- Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
- Delivering substance misuse therapies.
- Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
- Acute disease management.
- Promoting good personal healthcare.
- Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

*Essential Skills:*
- Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in acute medical healthcare experience

*Desired Skills:*

Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal to assist you in the role: A&E, walk-in centre, Paramedic Practitioner, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or other relevant discipline.
