You will ensure the safe and effective delivery of high-quality patient care within department.

We currently have 4 procedure rooms at Kings Mill Hospital and 1 at Newark Hospital where we deliver a range of procedures including, among other procedures, Colonoscopies, gastroscopies and ERCP.

The post holder will be required to provide leadership within the clinical education team and support the Department Sister with the day-to-day operations of this role across all areas.

**The post holder will also be required to**:

- Act as a role model in the clinical area, providing regular direct patient care and use experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.
- Work flexibly as part of the team and support the Department leader to ensure standards are maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
- To ensure that all staff feel supported in their wellbeing and that all sickness and absence is managed according to trust policy.
- Utilises and integrates evidence into practice.
- Acting as a role model, practice autonomously through the use of expert knowledge and skills in the direct provision of evidence-based care interventions and through supervision, mentoring and preceptorship of staff to promote best practice within the department.
- Maintain clinical skills in practice and contact with staff and patients.
- Lead and support staff on the specialist role of CE within the department.
- Work closely with the team leaders to ensure relevant equipment training and other competencies within all areas are compliant adhering to trust policies and procedures.
- Devise robust training sessions utilising audit afternoons and ensure all staff are up to date with mandatory requirements, appraisals and competency packs.
- Lead audits within the department and share findings with team and improvements if required.
- actively manage any Datix findings relevant to your area and share learning with the team as a result.
