Cambridge, United Kingdom Jagex Full time

**Description**:
Are you a Technical Designer looking for an opportunity to work on one of the world’s most popular MMORPGs?

Are you motivated by crafting new incredible bespoke experiences for players? Are you excited by the opportunity to be part of a collaborative and passionate team, and inspired to have a relationship with Old School’s passionate community?

You will be responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing content of varying types for Old School RuneScape, with a focus on technical implementation and prototype exploration. In addition to technical implementation, you must consider the gameplay and end-user experience of your work. As well as your own content, you will also be responsible for coordinating technical projects across the team.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Design new, engaging game content suitable for Old School RuneScape. You will often take the lead on design for mid-sized full projects, delivering a design that fits our goals and unites your peers behind it.
- Implement game content using our in-house scripting language, RuneScript. You will be provided full training and mentorship as required.
- Willing to present new ideas to the team and work with game server engineers to implement them
- Continuously improve your knowledge of Old School RuneScape through your own research and utilising the knowledge of the wider team. This should inform your design and development decisions.
- Work closely with other disciplines including graphics, QA and audio.
- Have the choice and opportunity to engage with the community via social media and livestreams with the assistance of our Community Management team.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Experience of LUA, Python or similar scripting language.
- An understanding of MMORPGs, their internal structures and systems.
- An avid interest in games, with a desire to discuss their key features.
- Technical experience with Scripting or Programming. This will be required to get to grips with our in-house scripting language, RuneScript.
- Experience working in a game design or development team and understand the development process.
- An ability to collaborate with other creative people.
- Strong time management, general organisation & prioritisation skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written & verbal.
- A pro-active work ethic who can take on problem solving, without being afraid of the challenge.

Collaboration is at the heart of Jagex. We love getting together with our teams to share ideas and socialise.

If you live in the UK, we offer a flexible working model that empowers you to work in the way that suits you best, while also getting the best from your working relationship with all the great people you’ll be connecting with here. We support you to be set up for success no matter where you log in.

Flexibility really is the key to how we set up working schedules, we’ll discuss your needs with you and be transparent about the working schedules of the team you’ll be working with during our interview process.
