About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Technical Designer to join our team at Jagex. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing content of varying types for Old School RuneScape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Coordinate Game Content: You will take the lead on design for full projects of any complexity, delivering a design that fits our goals, lays strong technical foundations, and unites your peers behind it.
  • Implement Game Content: You will coordinate and contribute to the implementation of game content using our in-house scripting language, RuneScript.
  • Technical Standards: You will work with the lead technical designer to ensure that content is technically sound and efficient.
  • Idea Generation and Presentation: You will determine the right ideas to move forward with and present these ideas to the team.
  • Technical Resource: You will act as a go-to technical resource that other designers can lean on for technical help and advice.

Requirements:

  • Technical Experience: Strong experience with Scripting or Programming, preferably in LUA, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to guide, mentor, and inspire other creative people.
  • Passion for Games: Passion for games and a desire to breakdown designs and discuss with others.
  • Game Development Experience: Experience working in a game design or development team and an understanding of game development processes.
