This role sits in Reach Out, Redbridge Council’s internal domestic abuse service. Reach Out is an ambitious service, with a passion for improving the safety, wellbeing and freedom of victims/survivors and their children.

Reach Out was initially set up during the pandemic as a screening service to help victims/ survivors to access interventions quickly - reducing delay and promoting safety. The service is expanding following the council’s commitment to create ‘a dedicated domestic abuse support service with the long-term resources it needs to support people at risk’. The service will co-ordinate the support needs of victims/survivors and their family and ensure that all safeguarding issues are identified and addressed.

We are looking for a Senior Family Support Worker (Women & Children’s Support Worker) who will support victims/ survivors and children with recovery and resettlement following relocation. Their role will be vital in ensuring that survivors and children are safe from harm, do need feel isolated and have direct, practical support to aid with their recovery and resettlement.

This role is initially funded for 12 months, but the service is proactively seeking further funding to extend it beyond this period.
