We solve the world's most complex problems and deliver what seems impossible. We explore challenges with curiosity and creativity - using technology, imagination and rigour to deliver remarkable outcomes.

The opportunity.

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a college, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 4 Advanced Apprenticeships have a typical duration of three years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

**Rail Engineering - Level 4 Apprenticeship**

They will also support in the development and production, analysis and planning of railway engineering designs that inform others, either internally or externally, where designs are utilised to construct, maintain or improve rail systems. Some technicians will also support in the surveying and checking of progress and quality factors of the technical design works on site. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients such as Network Rail, HS2, and many others. You'll study through one of the Industry Recognised Apprentice Training Providers on a mixture of block release and part-time study to work towards a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship. We'll help you to combine your learning experience with real responsibilities in the workplace.

For this apprenticeship opportunity we are recruiting into our Rail Track team.

**Commercial - Level 4 Apprenticeship - Birmingham**

As a Commercial Apprentice at Arup, you will be integrated into our dynamic Project Management team. Your role will involve supporting the delivery of engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality, time, and budget. You will assist in various tasks such as cost control, contract administration, project scheduling and stakeholder communication, playing a pivotal role in the successful execution of our engineering solutions.

Throughout your apprenticeship, we are committed to developing your knowledge, skills, and behaviours. This development will occur through a blend of on-the-job training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and formal education. You will engage in a structured program where you learn project management principles, engineering fundamentals, commercial awareness, and soft skills such as teamwork and communication. Regular feedback sessions and performance reviews will ensure your continual growth and alignment with your career aspirations.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be immersed in a variety of projects ranging from infrastructure development to sustainable energy solutions. Your involvement will include participating in project meetings, assisting in the preparation of project documentation, and contributing to the resolution of project and commercial issues. You will make a tangible impact by ensuring project tasks are completed efficiently, contributing to cost-saving initiatives, and enhancing client satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
