**What you’ll be doing**
Providing expert insight on solutions to support maintaining and enhancing our water supply capability.You’ll be leading and managing a specialist team delivering hydrogeological, hydrological, water resources systems, and related ecological advice withinasset management to ensure that agreed business and regulatory targets are delivered on time.Using outcomes from models, both conceptual and mathematical, you will coordinate and integrate an assessment of our water source and system performance.With awater resource system understanding, you will highlight opportunities for optimisation as well as support mitigation of risk, including drought.You’ll work closely with a wide range of colleagues across the business, including those in Asset Management,Engineering, and Operations, and in this dynamic business environment, you will provide robust insight and communicate clear recommendations to internal and external stakeholders to support decision-making.
**We’re looking for you to**:
- Have excellent system conceptualization and quantitative skills
- Hold professional qualification or membership preferred
- Have at least 5 years experience in water resources asset management for water supply or another related business environment
- Hold good project management and/or financial management
- Hold good people management skills
- Have an excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills
- Be a strategic thinker, have sound judgment, and be decisive with an excellent decision-making record.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and manage a specialist team, providing insight into our capability to supply water in the short and medium-term, and out to the end of the 21st century.In this role, you’ll be developing and enhancing your detailed knowledgeof the Thames Water supply area, our water resources system, and the underlying hydrogeology and hydrology of the catchment.You will also develop your understanding of the tools and processes that we use to assess the performance and capability of our waterresource assets and the future risks that they face.You’ll have the satisfaction of integrating the skills of a diverse technical team into outputs and solutions that deliver asset and environmental improvements as well as shaping our Water Resource ManagementPlans.Importantly, you’ll be working to ensure that we can balance the water needs of our customers and the environment and deliver on our environmental ambition.This will include being responsible for the investigations of vulnerable rivers in our region,understanding abstraction sustainability, and actions needed to improve and protect these rivers and streams, particularly the chalk streams in our region, where c80% of the world's chalk streams are located.
Our competitive salary and package include a bonus, car allowance private healthcare, an excellent contributory pension, a minimum of 26 days holiday per year increasing to a maximum of 30 days depending on grade and length of service, and a wider benefitsscheme.
