**Working hours**: 31 Hours (Mon, Tues, Weds, Fri - 08:40 - 15:10 Thurs 08:30 - 16:00)
**Contract Type**:Part Time/Fixed Term until 31st March 2025, Term Time Only (39 Weeks)
**Location**: Various Locations in the Borough

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Flying Start Childcare Service.

**We pay an attractive salary of £17,316 - £19,143 and offer access to training and development opportunities.**

At Caerphilly County Borough Council we have an exciting new opportunity within our vibrant Flying Start Childcare Service for a new Childcare Assistant. This post will be a fixed term contract of 31 hours per week up until 31st March 2025. Here you will mainly be located in our Graig y Rhacca Childcare setting, however, due to the nature of the service the post holder may occasionally be required to support other Flying Start Settings located throughout the Caerphilly Borough.

This is a key role where the successful applicant will support the team by working to Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations, and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) national minimum standards.

The Childcare Assistant forms part of a childcare team supporting the delivery of a high-quality childcare provision and establishing effective relationships with parents/carers and children.

A key part of this role is supporting the monitoring and evaluation of the programme and working with the team to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision.

This diverse and interesting post promotes an inclusive and respectful environment, supporting children with additional and emerging needs alongside working with multi agency partners to deliver the programme seamlessly.

The Assistant is required to be qualified to Level 2 or Level Children's Care, Play Learning and Development (CCPLD) within the relevant qualification as outlined on the Social Care Wales website. The Post holder will also be familiar with Welsh Government Flying Start Quality Childcare Guidelines. Please see attached Job Description for further details.

**For the role, we ask that you**:

- Achieve the NVQ level 3 Childcare Learning and Development qualification within the first year of employment
- Hold a CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Early Years and Childcare qualification or similar relevant qualification
- Hold a full UK Category B driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to work at various settings across the borough
