**Location**: Various Locations across the Borough

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Early Years Team.

**We pay an attractive salary of £12,246- £13,335 and offer access to training and development opportunities.**

The working pattern for this role is 8.30 - 12.30 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays. 8.30 - 12.45 Wednesdays and 8.30 - 11.45 Fridays.

We require this post to be filled as soon as possible to adhere to Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality childcare provision including acting as the deputy safeguarding designate and managing the smooth day-to-day running of the setting in the absence of the Leader.

The Childcare Deputy will assist the Leader in supporting and encouraging the engagement of parents/carers and children; support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting required for efficacy of the Flying Start Childcare provision; ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision; ensuring an inclusive and respectful environment and working with multi agency partners to deliver the programme seamlessly.

The deputy will have the main responsibility for supporting children with emerging / additional needs as required to access the Flying Start programme.

The post holder will mainly be located in our Fochriw Flying Start setting, however, due to the nature of the service the post holder may be required to support other Flying Start Settings located throughout the Caerphilly Borough in cases of absence.

The Deputy is required to be qualified to Level 3 with 2 years post qualifying experience and ideally a Welsh speaker as although we are an English medium setting, we are moving towards a bilingual Flying Start Childcare offer however, we are happy to consider someone who is willing to learn Welsh.

**For the role, we ask that you have**:

- CACHE Level 3 Diploma Early Years and Childcare qualification or equivalent relevant qualification
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Thorough knowledge of legislation, guidance and standards relating to Early Years provision including National Minimum Standards
