Retail Banking Operational Risk Officer

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
You will lead the Operational Risk coverage of select areas of Chase UK Operations and Product. You will join a dynamic team of risk professionals, building positive business stakeholder engagement and promoting a strong operational risk management culture, to ensure that the Firm’s Operational Risk Management Framework is implemented effectively.
As a Operational Risk Officer reporting to the Chase UK Operational Risk Lead, you will be responsible for the independent oversight of risk management practices in select areas of Chase UK Banking Products and Operations.
**Job responsibilities**
- Represents Operational Risk in business working groups, assessing the risk impact of new business initiatives and change management, influencing risk-based decisions, challenging the proposed control environment, and recommending approval (or not) of the initiative
- Conducts deep-dive reviews of areas of emerging risk to identify issues for the business to remediate, documenting outcomes and sharing results with stakeholders
- Plans and executes targeted monitoring activities leveraging data analytics to identify negative trends and potential control gaps, and oversee the execution of combined Operational Risk and Compliance testing activities
- Reviews operational risk events to assess and challenge root cause analysis, recurrent themes and remediation, and drive value-added changes
- Engages with global horizontal risk programs (e.g., Business Resiliency, Third-Party Outsourcing) to ensure that business practices remain in line with firmwide changes
- Prepares materials for regional and global forums to promote business awareness of the outcomes of Operational Risk activities, and support Operational Risk engagement in regulatory deliverables (e.g., OCC, FCA, PRA)
**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Extensive knowledge of operational risks associated with Retail Banking products and operations, preferably obtained in functions such as Risk, Compliance, Audit and/or Control Management
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Self-motivated, driven and inquisitive
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills, including data analytics, and proven ability to identify potential control issues and process improvements
**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Digital products experience and relevant regulatory knowledge
