About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Risk Control Specialist to join our team in Edinburgh. This exciting opportunity is part of our efforts to build a fresh operating model for non-financial risk management across the Group, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for managing the risks they face.

You will partner with our Group Finance colleagues, providing expertise to implement our risk strategy and ensure management can effectively discharge their accountabilities. Key responsibilities include partnering with key Finance stakeholders to oversee and challenge the Finance risk and control environment, reviewing and challenging the Finance risk profile and control strategy implementation, and managing relationships with risk and control owner teams.

What you'll do
  • Partner with key Finance stakeholders to identify and address potential risks and controls.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective risk and control strategies.
  • Critically review how Operational (Non-Financial) risk categories are handled in Finance.
  • Manage relationships with risk and control owner teams, acting as their risk and control business partner.

As a Financial Risk Control Specialist, you will leverage your knowledge and expertise to provide guidance, review, and challenge to process and control owners in the application of the Risk Management framework for the Finance teams.

What you'll need
  • A professional Finance qualification - ICAS (or equivalent), ACCA or CIMA.
  • Finance risk and control awareness of Operational (Non-Financial) risk categories across accounting processes and systems.
  • Understanding of how Risk Management framework interlocks with Group Policy requirements in the context of Finance operationally.
