We're seeking an IT Systems Risk Specialist to support robust risk management aligned with the Group's Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). This involves giving our leaders and Risk Owners businesses advice on their risk appetite decisions, safely and at pace.

As an IT Systems Risk Specialist, you'll have a strong understanding of current technology and a passion for its practical application and risk management. You'll provide deep operational risk knowledge and insight, and contribute to implementing risk policy, appetite and control objectives to enable the delivery of customer, regulatory and business strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk and Control:

  1. Contributing to the implementation of a risk and control oversight plan to assess compliance with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards and established controls.
  2. Providing pragmatic advice to support informed key risk decisions and trade-offs, balancing commerciality and risk appetite.

Reporting and Monitoring:

  1. Performing continuous monitoring and reporting of the Group's exposure relative to risk appetite, highlighting any significant deviations.
  2. Identifying and developing key risk indicators and key performance indicators to enable appropriate monitoring.

Policy and Governance and Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Contributing to the design and implementation of risk policies, control objectives and appetite to enable the Group to meet regulatory and operational risk objectives.
  2. Reviewing and enhancing risk policies and appetite through the identification and assessment of emerging and growing risks.

Requirements:

Operational Risk Knowledge: Deep operational expertise aligned to IT Systems Risk in a highly regulated environment, ideally within Financial Services.

Technology Knowledge: Knowledge of the latest operational risk frameworks and of technology asset lifecycle management.

FUTURE VISION: Demonstrable curiosity, understanding and track-record of effectively interpreting emerging technologies shaping the risk landscape and anticipating the impact of changes.

Decision-making and Problem-solving: Effective decision-making, with evidence of skilfully balancing trade-offs while understanding business strategy and opportunity risks.

Relationship Building: Strong communication skills in building effective internal and external partnerships.
