Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant

**Job summary**:
Our Pathology department supports every corner of University Hospitals Birmingham to include service users who study diseases within our Labs - in turn it dictates clinical decisions and patient pathways within the Trust.
As demand increases, we have ensured the delivery of this service and are now looking to grow our team of Medical Lab Assistants
- who will provide invaluable support to our Biomedical Scientists.
Working within standard operating procedures, you will be tasked with processing patient specimens for biomedical testing. This includes labelling and preparing specimens and problem solving in the event of misplaced samples. You will perform a range of laboratory tests, which require accuracy and good hand to eye co-ordination.
Additionally, you will provide an internal service to clinicians and other healthcare workers by reporting on test results accurately and often in a time sensitive situations.

Specimen Reception is a fast-paced, high output environment covering all four sites; Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, and Good Hope over a 24 hour period and core hours at Solihull.
