Tobacco Dependency Lead

The Trust is in the process of setting up its in-house Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service and is looking for an exceptional leader to establish and manage the team and develop the infrastructure to ensure a highly effective service.

The post holder will lead, establish and roll out a Trust-wide Tobacco Dependence Treatment Service which will provide the offer of NHS-funded tobacco treatments services for all people admitted to hospital who smoke. They will work closely with the Trust clinical lead and local community stop smoking leads. They will ensure the service is planned and managed effectively, ensuring the successful delivery against agreed timelines and plans, and for the management and reporting of risk.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a positive, progressive and dynamic team within the Improvement and Integration Directorate. Collectively the Team provide expertise in strategy, planning, improvement delivery and training within the Trust, working closely alongside other corporate and operational colleagues to deliver the Integrated Improvement Plan. The Project Manager, working with the clinical lead and nursing teams, will oversee the on-going development of evidence-based interventions in order to meet the needs of patients across all Trust sites. It is vital that the post holder has effective leadership qualities, can implement, and manage change, has a proactive approach to communication and is skilled in developing links and maintaining partnership arrangements with stakeholders within and outside the Trust. Key duties:

- Leading the scoping, planning and delivery of the programme, including the identification of key milestones, deliverables, and benefits.
- Providing in-depth analysis of the full range of data, service delivery outcomes and key performance indicators, identifying risks, benefits and disbenefits, and suggesting how these can be managed to ensure the programme remains on track and where added value can be achieved.
- Supporting the production and delivery of a long-term plan for each pathway so that this delivers local objectives.
- Driving transformation to achieve value for money in planning, commissioning, and service delivery.
- Ensuring that the project remains in-budget for the year, identifying risks and opportunities, taking responsibility for day-to-day management of finances, agreeing any actions with the programme Lead and Trust tobacco dependency steering group.
- Promoting the tobacco dependency programme rollout and organise launch events.
