**Head of HR**

This Head of HR role will focus on the development and delivery of human resource policies, legal compliance and best practice in the College for Fellows, academic and non-academic staff. You must have in-depth HR management experience within a multi-facetedorganisation to succeed in this high profile role.

**Head of HR Responsibilities**

As the Head of HR some of your duties will include:

- Supporting the Principal, Bursar, Senior Tutor and senior College staff with human resources guidance
- Managing recruitment processes
- Leading on training and development initiatives
- Delivering inductions
- Offering welfare support to staff
- Managing staff disciplinary and grievance cases and related investigations

**Head of HR Experience**

An excellent understanding and working knowledge of UK employment law, good practice, and data protection legislation is essential. (For complex employment matters, external advice is available).

This is a high profile role with strong support from the Bursar and Principal and we are looking for an individual with a resilient and pragmatic approach who is able to offer solution-oriented human resources advice and show emotional intelligence and discretionin handling sensitive personnel matters. Previous experience in a further education/ university setting would be an advantage. It is important for the post holder to have demonstrated experience in ensuring equality and fairness at work, in a lively and diverseacademic community.

Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold an appropriate professional qualification (CIPD or equivalent) and have proven experience in HR management. Familiarity with human resources issues in higher education is desirable. The postrequires excellent communication, negotiation and facilitation skills, energy, tact, initiative, and enthusiasm. You will be instrumental in delivering cultural shift and driving forward HR policies and procedures and will be experienced at managing a varietyof employment contract types.

**Location**

Based in Central Oxford, there is no parking on-site, however the College is situated close by to several public transport links.

You will be required to be on-site a minimum of 3-4 days per week to ensure you can build relationships with stakeholders.
