Quality Assurance Officer

**Job Purpose**
To oversee the service alerts and actions generated via the company quality assurance systems, ensuring continual improvement of the quality and safety of care, service delivery value and compliance.
**Job Outline**
Reporting to the Senior Quality Support Manager and working collaboratively with the Team managers and quality team, the post holder will conduct audit activity and monitor the service’s quality assurance systems to ensure safe provision and legal compliance within the service.
This role actively contributes to all aspects of the company goals of Quality, Efficiency and Growth and the associated tasks and responsibilities underpin the vision of Somerset Care to be the care provider of choice

- Academic or vocational learning at Level 3 or above (e.g. A Levels )preferable
- IOSH certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification preferable
- Relevant experience in a care setting required
- Proven audit experience essential
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office packages essential
- Knowledge of Health and Social Care Act 2012 and associated regulations desirable
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations desirable
- Experience of care systems desirable
**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Effectively monitoring and conducting scheduled audit activity and supporting the service managers to implement appropriate audit actions.
- Participating in service reviews and other quality improvement initiatives designed to monitor and improve quality and safety of the service, as required.
- Maintaining and inputting data into the Company’s care planning and quality and compliance systems, ensuring all information is updated and accurate.
- Acting as the main point of contact for reviewing, processing and managing through to completion, the alerts received daily via the service’s care planning system.
- Managing each alert, ensuring the required task is either resolved by the post holder or delegated to the appropriate person, in both cases the post holder will monitor progress of the action once completed within the care system and within defined timescales
- Accurately collating, analysing and interpreting the data derived from the care systems relating to care and service delivery, to produce regular quality analytics that will improve or enhance the company’s quality standards.
- Producing high quality analytics and communications that inform, engage and contribute to the continual improvement of auditing systems and ways of working across the service
- Identifying, reporting and escalating any activities where the risk of harm or compliance failure exists that would result in a clear breach of statutory legislation.
- Building effective relationships with key stakeholders to embed change through cooperation, including service managers and the quality team; whose input is vital to compliance and development of system initiatives.
- Positively promoting, encouraging and delivering quality and compliance within the service.
