**Patient Safety Specialist | Governance | Edinburgh Hospitals | Full Time**

Spire Edinburgh Hospitals are recruiting for a Patient Safety Specialist who will ensure that there is effective and accurate management of all clinical governance activities within the two hospitals. They will ensure that the Directors of the hospitals are given valid reassurance that patients are receiving the most effective treatment delivered by trained and competent staff in a safe, secure and sustainable environment.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- To develop, monitor and maintain systems to enable departments to achieve full compliance with HIS standards
- To lead and manage the team in the management of incidents, the learnings and the outcomes
- To develop monitor and maintain systems to ensure the effective production of Governance reports
- To analyse data required to ensure timely submission of accurate data to inform SMT, HoD’s and Spire Healthcare corporate
- Contribute continuously to the organisational development in line with Hospitals and Corporate objectives
- Develop own knowledge and practice and assist others to continually professionally develop
- Ensure a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security
- Communicate clinical effectiveness and quality improvement priorities to the Head of Clinical Services in-line with business needs

**Who we are looking for**:

- Previous experience of Clinical Governance, quality improvement and risk management
- Clinical qualification / registration
- Positive working relationship with regulators
- Sound knowledge of Legislation requirements for registration
- Experienced in managing adverse events/incidents
- Participation in strategic planning and development
- Experience in providing training and supervision
- Evidence of being involved in the management of change and supporting strategic management initiatives
