**KEY PURPOSE**:
Assist in the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of all Arts Service events within the Communities Unit.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The following duties are typical for this role. The post-holder may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

1. Assist in the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of the full Arts Service events programme, as required.

2. Assist in the management, coordination and delivery of all community arts outreach events and workshops.

3. Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives that will assist with the effective marketing and communication of events, including those relating to social media and the maintenance and updating of all relevant sections of the council’s dedicated arts and corporate websites.

4. Liaise with service providers, council departments and other external statutory organisations on all relevant event issues.

5. Prepare and present relevant financial and administrative support and reports with appropriate recommendations.

6. Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of records to allow event performances to be assessed against local and national Key Performance Indicators.

7. Assist in the implementation of all council required Health and Safety policies and procedures for all events in line with associated legislation, ensuring compliance in relation to the activities of the unit to provide a safe environment for event attendees and employees.

8. Assist in the implementation of all council required Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding policies and procedures for all events in line with associated legislation, ensuring compliance in relation to the activities of the unit to provide a safe environment for event attendees and employees.

9. Assist in the implementation of all council required standards of customer care in the execution of all events dealing with complaints, as required.

10. Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Community Arts Officer or Arts Service Manager.

Essential Criteria:
1.1 Currently studying for a degree, which is an Event Management, Public Relations, Marketing or Health & Safety related discipline and have successfully completed year 2 of this degree by July 2022.

Or

3 years employment experience in event management.

1.2 Previous experience of working in an event management role within an organisation.

1.3 Competent in the use of Word for word processing and text production.

1.4 Competent in the use of Excel, Outlook and Calendar.

1.5 A knowledge and understanding of the leisure industry.

1.6 Experience in the use of different social media.

**-37 hours per week to be worked between Monday to Sunday during daytime and evenings, as and when required.**
