This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Executive Assistant **/ PA to play a key role providing executive support at the highest level to the CEO of a world-leading government department.

**Job description**:
As **Executive Assistant** to the CEO, you will provide efficient and responsive support, acting as a key link between the CEO and the rest of the organisation, assisting with the management of their time and the delivery of their vision for the CMA. You will also provide support to the Senior Executive Team and the wider Executive Office.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Providing executive support to the CEO in a professional, responsible and timely manner
- Leading on the management of the CEO’s diary and inbox
- Organising the CEO’s forthcoming engagements and preparing schedules
- Maintaining an organised filing system on Outlook and SharePoint for the CEO’s internal records
- Organising domestic and international travel and accommodation and processing expenses
- Supporting the CEO and Chief of Staff on specific projects, researching issues, reviewing documents and liaising with colleagues across the organisation

You will be required to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment, maintaining sound judgement to ensure the CEO is represented in a professional manner. You will therefore be a strong relationship manager with excellent communication and influencing skills. You will also need to exercise discretion and confidentiality, and use sound judgement to read situations, anticipate potential problems and proactively find solutions.

The willingness to actively learn about, and engage with, the CMA’s work to better understand the CEO’s priorities and how your role contributes to the functioning of the Executive Office is equally important.

**Person specification**:

- Providing autonomous, high quality private office and executive support to the CEO in a professional, responsible and timely manner;
- Leading on the management of the CEO’s diary and inbox, tracking progress and proactively alerting them to emerging issues / dealing effectively with conflicts and exercising sound judgement in prioritising appointments;
- Horizon scanning the CEO’s forthcoming engagements, working with the CEO, Chief of Staff and relevant teams to understand what kind of support, briefing and preparation is needed in advance;
- Commissioning and providing quality assurance to submissions and materials for the CEO;
- Working closely with the Chief of Staff to implement the CEO’s external and internal engagement plans, drafting correspondence and materials, potentially including for the CEO’s work social medial presence;
- Preparing a daily pack including schedule of meetings with brief details and supporting paperwork where appropriate;
- Maintaining an organised filing system on Outlook and SharePoint for the CEO’s internal records consistent with CMA data management processes;
- Organising domestic and international travel and accommodation for the CEO and Chair, and processing expenses in line with CMA policies and transparency procedures;
- Ensuring the CEO’s expenses are processed efficiently and in compliance with CMA policies;
- Assisting with transparency and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests where they are relevant to the CEO or executive office;
- Supporting the CEO and Chief of Staff on specific projects, researching issues, reviewing documents and liaising with colleagues across the organisation;
- Actively learning about, and engaging with, the CMA’s work to better understand the CEO’s priorities and how your role contributes to the functioning of the Executive Office;
- Leading on the administrative support for the CMA’s collective leadership, including the Senior Executive Team;
- Working closely with other EAs and PAs, particularly the EA to the CMA Chair;
