We perform a vitally important role, prosecuting criminal cases independently and without bias so that justice is served for victims, witnesses, defendants, and the public.

The Communications Directorate makes a vital contribution to this work. The more the public understand our role and trust the decisions we make, the more likely they are to support prosecutions as victims or witnesses.

We support a strong team culture, working collaboratively and supporting colleagues’ development. Working for the CPS is hugely rewarding, professionally stretching and gives great scope for individuals to make a real impact.

Our Press Officers sit at the heart of our media operation. You will work on high-profile and challenging issues, including rape and serious sexual offences and domestic abuse, which dominate headlines and public interest.

You will develop creative, multi-channel strategies to raise awareness of our ambitious work to build public confidence in the CPS. You will bring new ideas to the table to tap into new audiences and deliver engaging, accurate and timely content.

The job is demanding but extremely rewarding with every case bringing different challenges and each policy development providing different opportunities to promote the CPS.
