**Job Summary**:

If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a **Serious Youth Violence & Exploitation Caseworker **to join us and support and mentor young people involved in or at risk of violence, vulnerability and exploitation.

St Giles is now a kickstart employer, so we are part of the scheme which provides job opportunities for 18-25 year-olds who are currently on Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.

**About this key role**

We will also count on you to support clients to develop individual action plans, which you will regularly review with clients to assess progress and support families to develop the confidence and capacity to manage their own lives. You will also produce risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with partner agencies and ensuring appropriate information is shared, supported referrals are made and avoiding duplication of support are also essential aspects of the role.

**What we are looking for**
- Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families
- Proven record of assessing the needs of young people who at risk of significant harm
- Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services
- Experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people
- A working knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in and around Cardiff
- Excellent interpersonal, prioritisation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
