We're currently looking for a Social Media Executive to join our Marketing team. The Social Media Executive will be responsible for ensuring consistent and relevant content is shared across Oxford Nanopore's social media channels. They will also support the management of targeted paid social media campaigns in line with organisational priorities.

**The details.**

You will be responsible for ensuring relevant, engaging and informative materials reach our target audience through our organic and paid social media channels. You will also produce monthly social media reports to track progress, as well as support the global events team with the promotion of flagship events.

Duties include:

- Generate content for corporate social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) ensuring appropriate written tone and continued pipeline of rich content to address multiple audiences in line with campaign goals.
- Write posts and create visual assets, such as images, GIFs and videos.
- Maintain schedule of posts across all social media channels to ensure the right frequency of posting for maximum engagement.
- Condense long-form scientific content (e.g. articles, white papers, best practice guides) into engaging social media copy.
- Develop social media plans to support campaigns including: content, objective, media, timelines and schedule, channel(s) and alignment with campaigns.
- Learn how to create paid adverts across social media in line with organisational priorities and measure success. Understand budget to track and demonstrate effective return on investment.
- Support promotion of global events through social media platforms '” promotion before, live action from, and sharing of content beyond.
- Analyse social media data and present monthly reports to the marketing team to demonstrate impact.
- Identify trends and opportunities in social media to develop and deliver engaging communication initiatives. Understand the vision and tone of voice of Oxford Nanopore, where the customer is at the heart of our community and support the sharing of customer stories by customers.

**What we're looking for.**

Crucial:

- A degree or equivalent in life sciences.
- Previous experience in marketing/comms with success in managing multiple social media channels and types of content.
- Creative from an ideas perspective, with an understanding for the power of storytelling, particularly in science.
- An eye for design and detail.
- Excellent written skills and able to adapt tone to audience and platform.
- Highly organised - able to manage multiple deadlines at once.
- Adaptable to changing timelines and situations.
- An independent worker.
- Dynamic, enthusiastic self-starter, that enjoys working in a team environment.

Desirable:

- Further marketing qualifications.
- Knowledge within genomics would be preferred.
- Ideally, you'll have previous experience of working within the life science industry.
- Basic graphic design, video editing and photoshop skills. Digital marketing and paid social media experience.
