**The Company**:
ER Recruitment is working with a recognised Leicestershire organisation to hire a Director of People to join their senior management team. Leading on equality, diversity and inclusion, the successful applicant will play a vital role in embedding EDI acrossthe organisation’s culture, championing industry best practice.
**Role & Responsibilities of the Director of People**:

- Ensure all polices relating to Human Resources (including Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, Dignity at Work, and Speak Up) are regularly reviewed, embedded across the organisation and champion best practice.
- Lead on the creation and delivery of the theatre’s People and Human Resources Plan and the Equality Action Plan ensuring EDI sits at the heart of all activities.
- Liaise with SMT, Trustees and colleagues to provide strategic counsel, advice and support on all people matters including recruitment and selection, employee relations, and employment law.
- Oversee all statutory and bespoke training and development plans across the organisation, ensuring colleagues are suitably trained for their roles and continuously developed.
- Oversee the annual appraisal framework across the theatre and ensure all staff are set SMART objectives to assess performance.
- Ensure the organisation is up to date and compliant across all aspects of employment legislation and statutory employment requirements.
- Deal with any absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues in a legally compliant and professional way.
- Coach and provide day to day advice to line managers on all HR issues.
- Ensure EDI strategies are embedded across the organisation’s culture and champion industry best practice.
- Work with SMT, the Board and colleagues to develop a positive working culture that is inclusive and aligned to the organisations policies.
- Take the lead on strengthening EDI and engagement across the organisation, delivering on action plans and meeting ambitious targets.
- Maintain and develop local, regional and national networks to support a culture of fairness, respect and dignity at work.
- Set and monitor the HR and training budgets, ensuring organisational processes and controls are adhered to and accurate financial information is delivered to the finance department
- Leadership of the HR team, ensuring all areas of the department are staffed and resourced to a consistently high standard.
- Capture and monitor data for monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and identify and flag any trends forming from exit interviews.

**About You as the Director of People**:

- At least three years’ experience of working in a management position in a HR/people department, which includes recruitment, training & development, EDI and Organisational Development (OD)
- Member of CIPD
- Previous experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to work with a Board of Trustees
- Demonstrable experience of leading and delivering a range of organisational development initiatives to meet organisational goals.
- Experience of coaching and providing sound counsel to a range of people in line with industry best practice and employment law.
- Experience of supporting cultural organisational change within an organisation
- Previous line management responsibilities.
