Pricing Assistant

Working closely with our buying teams, you’ll make sure that we continue to offer our customers the very best prices.
Our buying teams - if it's possible - have to move even quicker than the rest of the business. And they have to keep ahead of our customers too: second-guessing what they want and need before they do. You'll get involved in every aspect of the pricing lifecycle - from reviewing market data and crunching numbers, to developing strategy and processes.
We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. And to keep on top of that wave, our buying teams have to do something pretty special to keep our customers coming back for more.
You will have strong commercial understanding of ALDI and the UK grocery market, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels. You will collaborate with Buying Teams to drive business performance and achieve business targets, while balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
This is a fantastic position in a growing team, with exposure to senior stakeholders and lots of variety. You will play an integral role in ALDI’s success.
**Your New Role**
- Monitor and report on competitor price and promotion activity across the market
- Take ownership of part of our range and determine optimum prices for your products
- Combine data from multiple sources to provide strategic recommendations and highlight business opportunities
- Communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, including presenting pricing recommendations to Buying Directors
- Build and maintain effective relationships between the Pricing and Buying Teams
- Use initiative to assess and resolve problems
- Assist in the creation of new processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across the business
- Work flexibly and efficiently, managing a combination of routine and ad-hoc tasks
**About You**
- Commercial understanding of ALDI and the UK grocery market
- Strong proficiency in Excel - formulas, macros, pivot tables
- An interest in pricing and business strategy
- Attention to detail
- Proficient with data - combine large volumes from multiple sources to create user-friendly outputs and recommend strategic outcomes
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders within the business
- Effective time management and organisation
- Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to learn quickly - adapting to new systems and tools
- Positive attitude towards change and innovation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to adapt communication style for purpose and audience
- Enjoys using initiative to resolve issues and identify process improvements
**What You’ll get in Return**
- Salary details £34,910 rising to £40,510
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
