Working closely with your Buying Director, you'll make sure that they have everything they need to negotiate the very best deals.

Our buying teams - if it's possible - have to move even quicker than the rest of the business. And they have to keep ahead of our customers too: second-guessing what they want and need before they do. You'll get involved in every aspect of the buying lifecycle, from putting together tender documents and crunching numbers, to preparing samples and reviewing market data. The proposals start with you.

We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. And to keep on top of that wave, our buying teams have to do something pretty special to keep our customers coming back for more.

We have a fantastic opportunity available for an additional Buying Assistant to join our Seasonal Coordination team within the Confectionery category.

Working collaboratively across all departments; Regions, Trading, Store Operations, Buying Teams, National Supply Chain and Advertising & Marketing, you will be responsible for managing the efficient and accurate flow of correspondence and information, both incoming and outgoing, with external and internal parties and proposing or taking action where appropriate.

**Your New Role**
- Coordination of extensive reporting during Key Events, including analysis of KPI related data such as sell through, promotional activity and inventory levels along with the addition of circumstance-based value
- Identification of areas for improvement to maximise the value, accuracy, and timeliness of Key Event reporting
- Delivery of performance tracking reports highlighting KPI related risks to Buying, to highlight opportunities for improving commercial success
- Determination of forecasting logic applied to inform price change decisions
- Collection, evaluation, and manipulation of varied retail data to generate insights, identify trends and recommend strategies to improve departmental KPIs
- Efficient consolidation of data from several sources, formatted effectively for analysis
- Identification of relevant short and long-term data trends and pro-active initiation of follow up analysis and preparation of business-friendly reports
- Understanding and awareness of all relevant commercial drivers (e.g. Product, Price, Promotion, Price Change etc.) and what levers can be pulled to improve commercial performance
- Delivery of Key Event training to new starters
- Liaising and building strong relationships with Key Stakeholders across the business
- Liaising and building strong relationships with our Service Departments to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of information
- Monitoring and controlling adherence to all deadlines
- Continuous improvement within role, simplifying processes and operations to maximise efficiencies
- Supporting the delivery of the departmental strategy as required

**About You**
- Previous experience in a Buying role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good ability to build and maintain relationships
- Highly organised with an excellent attention to detail
- Able to investigate, analyse and challenge appropriately
- Able to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work individually and as part of a wider team
- Positive can-do attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and able to use your initiative
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Sound database management experience
- Experience of working in a highly commercial environment (e.g. Retail, FMCG)
- Self-motivated - must be productive with mínimal direction
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment
- Excellent visual design sense regarding clear and accurate presentation of data
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proactive in planning to achieve targets and objectives
- Respectful of individuals’ views and a positive contributor to a learning environment in which individuals are supported and encouraged to excel

**What You’ll get in Return**
- Salary starting £36,080 rising to £42,125
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
