If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for?
We are recruiting for **Support Workers** to support individuals within their own homes in the **Niddrie area of Edinburgh**
The people we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities, Autism and mental and physical health issues, but this hasn’t stopped them from enjoying life They enjoy lots of activities, including going to parties, shopping, going to the cinema, eating out, travelling, playing sports and spending time with friends and family. However, they’re always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.
Our support team are very diverse and work well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe in their own homes. This can include:
- Supporting them with medication
- Cooking
- Assisting with personal care
- Maintaining the homes of people supported and managing their finances
Our team provide support 24 hours a day, so we are looking for some flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including some weekends, sleepovers and occasional waking nights if required. We are looking for **part-time (24+ hours)** and **full-time Support Workers** and our shift patterns are:
- 7.30am - 9.30pm
- 8am - 9.30pm
- 8am to 9pm
- 9am - 9pm
- 9am - 11pm
- 11pm - 7am (sleepovers)
Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For the Niddrie service, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010
**Your values**:
The people we support like to be supported by people who respect them and their homes, but who also like to have fun
They like people who are reliable and honest, so they can build trust and know that you have their best interests at heart.
**A Place I belong**
Here at Community Integrated Care we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all - where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work.
By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice.
We have a really clear plan to achieve this called A Place I Belong. This publicly sets out the promises we’ve made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there. You
