Are you an enthusiastic and dynamic Dietitian with excellent team-working skills? An opportunity has arisen to join our forward thinking and dynamic Dietetic team across Hywel Dda University Health Board to provide operational acute leadership support on site in Bronglais Hospital.

The post-holder will provide operational leadership to the acute dietetic team in Bronglais hospital supporting the team with caseload management and prioritisation.They will also support Dietetic assistant practitioners and students.

The post-holder will actively carry a complex clinical caseload of critical care patients as well as supporting the team with expert knowledge and guidance in relation to complex nutritional support.

We are the first health Board in Wales to have a strategic lead for malnutrition. The post holder will play a pivotal leadership roll in supporting the malnutrition strategic lead to drive quality improvement work Health Board wide by utilising excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as a passion for improvement work.

The post holder will join a team of innovative and forward thinking clinical leads working across acute and community nutrition support along with clinical nurse specialists and the wider MDT.

Clinically leads the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice in relation to acute nutrition support and quality improvement.

Clinically leads the development and delivery of education and training in relation to acute nutrition support quality improvement.

Acts as the operational on site lead for acute nutritional support in Bronglais hospital supporting the team with daily caseload prioritisation and ensuring effective delegation to Dietetic support workers.

Line manages and clinically supervises delegated nutrition and dietetic staff ensuring consistent evidence based standards of care and effective multi-disciplinary working.

Leads the development and implementation of nutrition and dietetic related guidance and standards, resources, training and education in area of expertise and ensure effective integration across programmes of work in relation to acute nutrition support.

Manages a caseload of highly complex individuals requiring Nutritional support by covering the critical care unit in Bronglais Hospital as well as supporting the wider acute team with complex cases that present on a day to day basis. There will be an expectation that the post-holder also supports cover when required to other hospital sites (virtually or in person).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
