**Contract Type**: Permanent/ Full Time. 37.5hrs per week, Monday-Friday.

**Salary**: Up to £62,000 depending on experience + employee benefits scheme to include private medical insurance

**Vacancy Summary**

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, driven Diagnostic Radiographer to lead from the front and help maintain and improve our outstanding service.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Work as the Head of Department reporting into the Regional AHP & Imaging Manager
- To have day to day responsibility for the safe and effective implementation of the imaging service
- To undertake clinical duties as required in modalities covered by the Imaging Department dependent on your clinical experience - MRI, General X-Ray, General Theatres, Mammography and Ultrasound
- Provide technical leadership and supervision of the introduction of new techniques and technologies in diagnostic imaging.
- Support the Regional AHP & Imaging Manager to maximise the potential of current resources and identify and provide business cases for future investments.
- Monitoring staffing requirements and skill mix, ensuring that governance standards are met, on call rotas are maintained as required
- To oversee the development, training, supervision, performance review and retention of staff within The Wilmslow Hospital Imaging department
- Complete appraisal and supervision to maintain a compliant workforce
- To support the quality management of the department
- Work to financial and budgetary targets and work to grow the service and team
- Manage the relationships with the Consultant Radiologists and other key stakeholders

**Skills & Experience**
- BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Experience at Team Lead/Head of Department level (preferred)
- Membership of the Society of Radiographers (desirable)
- Experience in Quality Management
- Comprehensive knowledge of IR(ME)R and IRR
- Wide range of professional expertise, gained on a variety of equipment and including up to date technique
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronic patient management systems and record and verify systems

**About The Facility**

At the Wilmslow Hospital, we diagnose and treat a range of conditions using some of the most advanced technology in the region, from our 3T MRI scanner to our state-of-the-art laminar flow operating theatres.

The hospital is made up of 13 consultant rooms; a full diagnostic imaging suite; 2 operating theatres and a dedicated women’s health unit. The Outpatients Department services a wide range of specialities, within which the post holder will develop skills.
