Are you an experienced Administrator looking for the next step in your career? Do you have strong customer service skills and the ability to work on your own initiative? National Highways has an opportunity for a Senior Administrator to join the Regional Investment Programme (RIP), within the Major Projects (MP) directorate, in the Southwest.

RIP is one of four programmes within National Highways Major Projects Directorate. Major Projects is responsible for the delivery of nearly 70 projects with a total value of more than £14 billion, and some of the most exciting and challenging projects in the country. National Highway’s goal is to change the industry: to make roads and their construction and maintenance safer; to be more responsive to the needs of our customers, particularly about biodiversity and carbon; and to exploit the digital agenda and drive the productivity agenda to improve delivery.

We are looking for a proactive and driven individual to provide flexible and varied administrative support to contribute to the delivery of business activities and objectives to time, quality and within budget.

We offer home working with regular meetings taking place in our Bristol office. Occasional travel to project sites may also be required.

**What you’ll be leading on**:

- Delivering a variety of administrative processes; ensuring accuracy and punctuality whilst adherence to defined procedures and standards.
- Answering standard and non-standard enquiries, acting as a point of contact internally and externally. Providing information to stakeholders to support delivery, customer service, and decision making. Escalating issues for resolution, as necessary.
- Managing self-led initiatives to completion, either standalone or as part of larger projects, to support achievement of business objectives.
- Identifying areas of special interest to support the regional programme and the delivery of specific business functions.
- Act as first point of contact for the senior management team member(s), manage electronic communications, mail, and incoming calls; ensuring that these are prioritised, deadlines are considered, and appropriate action is taken as well as undertake ad hoc administrative duties as and when required, ensuring accurate, timely delivery and that relevant policies and procedures are followed.
- Arrange and attend meetings and events ensuring that consideration is given to the most effective and efficient use of time and cost; produce accurate records and maintain and update action logs for all meetings.
- Collate and compose information and prepare standard documents, correspondence, papers and presentations accurately and efficiently, to support the delivery of excellent service standards to internal and / or external customers.
- Quality assure, enter and maintain information on systems and files to ensure that information is up to date, accurate, in the right place and easily accessible, handling department and Company sensitive information with discretion to ensure confidentiality ensuring security of papers and liaising with the team’s SHARE Information Manager where appropriate.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues across National Highways and externally, to develop cooperation and contribute to the continuous improvement of services.

**To be successful you’ll demonstrate**:

- Experience of working in business or project administration.
- Proven ability to work effectively with others in an office environment or delivering an efficient customer focused service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to use office software products to produce and maintain a wide range of documents and systems such as, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management and organisational skills. An ability to work under one’s own initiative, prioritising tasks to meet competing deadlines.
