We require a person who has a flexible approach to work and is committed to providing Safe, Personal and Effective care.
You will be required to have good organisational and communication skills. Proficiency in keyboard /computer skills is essential for this role. Previous experience working with the electronic Winscribe system would be advantageous but not essential as full training would be provided.
The post holder will provide an efficient and full typing, clerical and administrative support to the medical secretaries. A large part of this workload is predominantly digital audio transcription of clinic letter and other correspondence.
The role requires previous administrative & clerical experience along with word processing, keyboard and audio typing skills. A knowledge of medical terminology and the electronic Winscribe digital dictation system would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided

EDUCATION
Essential criteria
- GCSE English at ‘C’ grade or above
- EDCL or equivalent
- RSA/OCR II Typewriting or RSA/OCR Word Processing
- RAS/OCR Audio Typewriting or proven ability of an equivalent level of skill
Desirable criteria
- RSA/OCR Medical Audio-Typewriting
JOB EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Previous administrative / clerical experience
- Audio typing experience
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of the Winscribe digital dictation system
- Previous experience working in an NHS environment
- Experience using the Patient Hospital Administration System
