**ABOUT GUILDHOUSE SCHOOL**
Guildhouse School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school serving international students aged 15+ located in Bloomsbury Square at the heart of London. Guildhouse School specialises in preparing students for pre-university exams, including I/GCSEs, A Levels and the University Foundation Programme (UFP). There are approximately two hundred and fifty students on roll, class size average is nine, and students take part in an extensive range of extra-curricular activities including leadership awards and national/international competitions. Approximately half of the Guildhouse School’s students live in our boarding accommodation. Guildhouse School is a member of the Independent Schools Association (ISA) and inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI.)

**OVERVIEW OF THE JOB**
You will be a middle manager and assume responsibility for the boarding team during your time on duty, committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our boarding students. You will assist them in their daily lives and act as first point of contact for boarding matters when on duty. As a residential member of staff you will contribute to creating a warm, welcoming and homely environment for the students and staff in Premier House during their time as part of the boarding community.

This is a full-time, year-round permanent position working 43 hours per week over a two-week rota. You will be expected to reside in the building on duty nights.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AS A SENIOR RESIDENT HOUSE PARENT**
- Be responsible for boarding when on duty.
- Co-create rotas with the Assistant Head: Boarding and House Leader for the boarding team, ensuring Premier House is staffed, monitored and patrolled regularly while on shift. This includes during the day when the house needs to be open.
- Ensure that the daily duty report is completed and submitted to relevant staff.
- Liaise with academic, admin and senior staff as requested.
- Reside in the accommodation when on shift overnight.
- Plan and lead activities with the boarding team both on weekday evenings and weekends when required.
- Ensure the correct risk assessments are in place for all activities.
- Attend trips and follow the protocols in place as stated in the Trip Policy
- Lead and manage the boarding duty team, organizing breaks, tasks and responsibilities throughout the day.
- Be flexible in terms of your working days and hours and be willing to cover the boarding house at short notice if the need arises.
- Attend meetings, lead tours, activities and events in place of the Assistant Head: Boarding when they are unavailable.
- Work collaboratively with the House Leader to ensure the smooth day to day running of Premier House.
