You’ll have a deep understanding about what motivates our customers and use this insight and social media monitoring metrics to drive business performance.
This role allows us to provide platforms for our customers, men and their families and friends, to tell their stories and showcase the positive impact their involvement is having on men’s health. You provide stories that engage, constantly seeking new opportunities to inspire our audiences and reinforce deeper relationships with them by working in close collaboration with teams across the engagement framework. You re-purpose content that has grabbed attention in the media or inspired our customers to take their first action and share stories that have excelled on social. Stories about the campaigners united to improve care for men with prostate cancer across the UK. And stories of our researchers, finding new answers that could lead us towards the next breakthrough test or treatment.
You’ll spot trends and seek to innovate our approach to engaging our customers on social, train and oversee social media champions across the organisation through leading a social media community of practice, ensuring all engagement continues to nurture and develop long-lasting, loyal customers.
**What we want from you**
You will have excellent copywriting and editing skills, you get what works and what doesn’t on social media channels, and you’re a fountain of creative ideas for emotionally connecting with our supporters around personal stories, sport, films, music, and other passion points. You’ll have solid experience in organic social media campaigns and be adept at managing and optimising Facebook ads.
Having a strong background in media/social media, you know how to balance competing priorities and use your experience and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with a range of stakeholders. You’re confident providing expert advice to help other teams make better use of social media. You’ll also line manage a Social Media Officer so previous line management experience would be beneficial but not essential.
**Why work with us?**
Every man needs to know about the most common cancer in men - prostate cancer. It’s a real and present danger that takes over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends each year.
Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition - to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about men at risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.
Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.
