An opportunity for a Band 3 Rehabilitation Support Worker has arisen on the Woodfield Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Bodmin Hospital

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Stroke Rehabilitation Team, working as a generic support worker alongside our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. We will offer a supportive working environment in which to develop your clinical and interpersonal skills and structured in-service training programme. Previous experience of care and/or of rehabilitation is desirable.

The therapy team provides a 6/7 day service, covering the core hours of 8am - 6pm, with some weekend working. Shifts are usually between 8-4 or 10-6 and will be worked over 4 shifts. The successful applicant must be able to meet these core requirements.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Stroke Team, based at the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Bodmin Hospital. The team will provide a seamless service for stroke patients, which will include flexible, cross-boundary working within the wider stroke team.

The team provides an intensive, client centred rehabilitation service for stroke patients, using an interdisciplinary team approach. The unit has nine dedicated stroke beds and is part of Anchor Ward. There will be a high level of patient contact while working primarily in support of occupational therapy and physiotherapy

You will be required to participate in the therapy management of a varied stroke clinical caseload and facilitating discharge from hospital.
We will offer a supportive working environment in which to develop your clinical and interpersonal skills, a structured in-service training programme, and appraisal, supervision system.

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
