**Job title **Catering Assistant

**Hours and weeks **29.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year).

**Salary **£14,859 - £16,357 based on working term time only (39 weeks per year). The full time equivalent salary is £21,253 - £23,396 per annum.

**Job Purpose**:
To ensure that the restaurant, counters and fridges are set up and maintained to the highest standard.

To provide customers of the restaurant with a friendly and efficient service.

**Responsibilities**:
**Duties and responsibilities**

1. To ensure all counters, fridges and tables are set up accordingly prior to service times.

2. To assist with basic food preparation as directed by the executive chef/line manager.

3. To ensure constant replenishment of counters and fridges throughout service.

4. To ensure attractive presentation of the food throughout service.

5. To ensure the restaurant area is clean and tidy at all times.

6. To ensure service checks are recorded.

7. To clean and clear all the food service areas and the kitchen after service.

8. To ensure the cleaning schedule is followed in accordance with HACCP regulations and COSHH Regulations.

9. To carry out reasonable requests of management.

10. To be responsible for money handling and cashing of tills.

**Interpersonal duties**

1. To ensure the highest standard of customer care at all times.

2. To ensure all customers are served in a friendly and efficient manner.

3. To ensure all comments and complaints are passed on immediately to the manager.

4. To ensure high standards of personal hygiene.

5. To ensure uniform is clean, tidy and that the name badge is worn and displayed at all times.

6. To ensure all accidents and faulty equipment is reported to the manager.

7. To ensure that all new ideas are communicated to the manager.

8. To ensure a full attendance to all training sessions, meetings and monthly reviews.

9. To carry out any ad hoc duties as reasonably directed by the management team.
