**About us**:
The Student Welcome and Induction team are responsible for planning, managing and overseeing UCL’s delivery of Welcome and Induction for c.26,000 new students of all study levels throughout the year, as well as coordinating and overseeing UCL’s delivery of Enrolment and Onboarding.

The purpose of the Student Welcome and Induction team is to ensure that students joining UCL receive a positive and consistent experience that provides strong foundations for them to undertake their studies and make the most of their time at UCL.

**About the role**:
The main responsibilities for this role involve:

- Leading the development and delivery of orientation activities for new international students at UCL, ensuring effective communication and coordination with stakeholders, and staying informed about policies affecting international students.
- Overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of Welcome Student Ambassadors.
- Developing and updating internal communications, such as newsletters, Microsoft Teams Groups and SharePoint, to keep our stakeholders updated.
- Supporting the Student Welcome and Induction Manager with enhancing and testing the enrolment task and supporting the onboarding of numerous temporary staff during the summer.

This role is hybrid working, with a minimum expectation of one day per week in the office. For staff working in Student Welcome and Induction, leave cannot normally be taken between the last week in August and first week in October. Staff may also be required to work on the occasional weekend during this period, and all team members are expected to work full-time on campus during the welcome periods.

This role offers the ideal opportunity to take ownership of the orientation for new international students, and gain experience in a team that coordinates and supports a variety of departments across UCL.

**About you**:
To do this job you’ll need relevant experience in a student-focused environment within Higher Education and experience of delivering large-scale events as part of a team.

Strong organisational, communication and coordination skills are necessary, along with the ability to work with a wide range of staff at UCL and externally, and with students from a variety of backgrounds.

You will be expected to work with minimum supervision and take responsibility for defining and meeting your targets.

Experience of working with international students, or studying or working outside the UK are desirable, as is knowledge of SITS and experience of running a student ambassador scheme.
