About you
You will be responsible for 3 direct reports, responsible for collections on a set number of events while managing own collections ledger. Must be organised and manage time efficiently.
Maximise cash flow and minimise bad debt. Maintain/Reduce DSO
The successful applicant should be forward thinking and able to drive transformation. You must be able to support initiatives and nurture growth. You must be able to work under pressure towards monthly targets and strict deadlines. You will communicate with customers in writing, by telephone and sometimes face to face. Must be computer literate and able to deal with allocated ledgers but also work as part of a team
**Key Responsibilities**
- Key responsibilities
- Line management of three Collectors
- Manage collections for a set number of events
- Regular debt meetings with Event Directors and Sales Executives
- Attend weekly lab meetings
- Event reporting to highlight risk and minimise exposure to bad debt
- Sole responsibility for the collection of portfolio of approximately 200 live accounts determined by an alpha split
- Maximising collections by achieving monthly cash targets, minimising aged debt, bad debt and DSO
- Ensuring the timely receipt of invoices by the customers and or uploading customer’s invoices on various procurement portals
- Taking credit card payments via online portal and setting up Direct Debits and negotiating Payment Plans
- Running the cancellation invoice report and escalating outstanding invoices to third party for collections
- Ensuring risk accounts are placed ‘on stop’ on database
- Creating invoice disputes on database and assigning to appropriate staff member in SSupport, removing from dispute once resolved
- Assisting Cash Accountant to ensure receipts are applied correctly and moving where necessary - minimising cash items in suspense
- Ensuring Debtors ledger is tidy via regularly reviews with direct reports (proposing write offs, raising customer refunds)
- Attending events to perform collections duties as required
- Annual leave cover for Credit Manager
- Performing other sundry tasks as requested by line manager

- Valued skills
- Minimum of 3 years credit control experience essential
- Experience within exhibitions industry, Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills (verbal & written)
- Excellent organisation skills
- Strong attention to detail, high accuracy and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Vast experience of account reconciliations and working within a fast paced, high volume environment
- Desire to progress career and support direct reports in their growth
- Qualification advantageous but not essential (e.g. CICM)
