This is an administrative role within Postgraduate Medical Education with specific responsibilities to work with the Guardian of Safe Working, Doctors in training and Trust Doctors Study Leave administration as well as contributing to the wider roles within the department.

The role will sit within the Postgraduate administrative team and will support the Medical Education Manager, Deputy Medical Education Manager and Senior Medical Education Administrator in ensuring Junior Doctor Postgraduate Medical Education is administered within the guidelines of the various Curriculums and Health Education England’s guidelines as set out by the Local Education Training Boards (LETB), Health Education England-South West (HEE-SW).

Support the Guardian with all administrative work involved in the undertaking of the Guardian role within
the Trust.

To administer exception reports generated by doctors in training within the guidelines set by the
Department of Health.

Receive sensitive and sometimes complex exception reports where confidentiality will be essential and
there will be a need to understand the nature of the exception reports and the ability to categorise and
prioritise in line with guidelines.

Have weekly meetings with the Guardian to ensure concerns are raised and any administrative tasks
given by the Guardian are noted and completed. This will be an opportunity to raise with the Guardian
any outstanding reports on the Allocate system and what should be done about them i.e. contact the
Educational Supervisor listed.

There will be a need to understand and learn software to assist with the timely receipt of reports in line
with Department of Health guidance and to continually, update the Exception Report spreadsheet.
