Duties:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of goods and services
- Lead the procurement team in executing procurement activities, including sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop procurement plans accordingly
- Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure compliance with contractual agreements
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring timely and accurate execution
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to procurement

Experience, knowledge and qualifications:

- Full Member status of the CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply)
- Operational and Strategic Supply Chain management experience
- Knowledge of implementing change to supply chain management/operation systems
- Experience of managing and developing staff to meet the changing needs of the service.
- Specialist strategic procurement knowledge acquired through MCIPS and practical experience including experience of stock/materials management systems selection, implementation and management and general purchasing experience
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to disseminate essential and complex information to multidisciplinary groups. (2) 6. Computer literate and working detailed knowledge of basic computer packages e.g. Microsoft Office and Internet based systems.
- Excellent verbal and written skills (inc. report writing)
- Ability to analyse complex information, interpret and/or present in a clear, comprehensive format relevant to the stakeholder

This a full-time job, 37.5 hours/week, for an initial 6 month. Hybrid work available with a maximum 2 days from home.

Payrate: £25.15-£28.20/hour.

Location: Royal Stoke Hospital (Stoke on-Trent) or County Hospital (Stafford)
