Emergency planning, preparedness and business continuity are high on the strategic agenda for the University of Central Lancashire. Boosting our operational resilience - our ability to respond to and effectively recover from disruptions of all sizes is key to our success.

In a post Covid-19 world, our aim is to be dynamic in incident planning and recovery to ensure the continuity of teaching, learning, research and professional services.

We are seeking an individual an innovative and forward-thinking individual, with a proven ability to influence and succeed within a complex and fast paced environment. A relevant degree (or equivalent) or experience in emergency planning and/or business continuity is essential.

You must be able to work with a high degree of autonomy; initiative and an ability to manage your own workload is essential. As a team, we are required to influence positively across all levels of the University, therefore excellent written and verbal skills and an ability to motivate others is a must.
- Redevelop the University’s emergency management processes and plans
- Prepare, review, test and maintain emergency management and business continuity plans
- Be responsible for the management of the emergency on-call rotas
- Engage in meetings with internal departments and external partners and stakeholders to ensure best practice and parity across business areas and organisations
- Provide support to the emergency management team during spontaneous and preplanned incidents/operations
- Assist in the design, creation and delivery of Emergency Management and Business Continuity Training

Emergency management, business continuity and resilience sit within the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Service, reporting to the Executive Director of Estates and Campus Services.
