The Future is Green project is an exciting partnership project led by Cornwall College, with partners including Truro & Penwith College, Cornwall Marine Network, Celtic Sea Power, University of Exeter, Falmouth University, Focus Training (SW) Ltd, and Urban Biodiversity CIC. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (IoS) (known as the Good Growth Fund).

The project’s overall aim is to deliver a range of activities to upskill the labour force of Cornwall & the IoS in Green Skills to support the future green economy and provide opportunities for individuals to access and progress within high quality, well-paid jobs. At the University of Plymouth, we will be developing and delivering training to support enterprises to engage with the net-zero agenda; including Climate Literacy, Future Climate Leaders, B-Corp workshops, Carbon Foot-printing. The training will target enterprises in all sectors, including transport, construction and clean energy.

You will have the added benefit of working closely with the new Great-South-West Net-Zero Exchange (NZX) team to develop the training content as well as facilitate knowledge exchange with the university’s academics; drive impact, connect partners, create opportunities and generate value from leading-edge research and education in Cornwall & the IoS.

Based at the University’s Sustainable Earth Institute and located in the University’s newly refurbished Sustainability Hub, some key duties include:

- Supporting The Future is Green team in the data collection, data entry and preparation of reports.
- Supporting the Good Growth Fund (Shared Prosperity Fund) financial claims for the project.
- Ensuring that the project paper and electronic filing systems are established and maintained, including written records, client activity files and event documentation.
- Co-ordinating external room bookings, accommodation needs, catering requirements and equipment hire as required.
- Taking a customer-focussed approach to all stakeholders and assist in the enquiries from potential clients to the services available.

You must be well organised and have experience of working with finance systems for purchasing and reporting. You must also be used to working in a team environment and have a high level of numeracy and accuracy.

Please note - UK Shared Prosperity Fund - this project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as the Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.
