**Compliance Assistant - Block Management Industry**
- Entry-level position, starting salary of £24,000 per annum._

With the help of the wider Estates team, you will manage day-to-day issues and contractors across the sites, ensuring adherence with company standards and health & safety guidelines.

Prior experience working within a compliance and/or health and safety-based role would be advantageous.

**Main Duties: -**
- Day-to-day management of a residential and/or student portfolio, managing all repairs and planned maintenance, as well as appointing external contractors to manage repairs and upkeep.
- Working with the wider Estates team to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Assisting the Head of Compliance & Risk to manage preventative maintenance and schedules.
- Assisting the Head of Compliance & Risk to prepare annual planned maintenance and improvement plans.
- Carrying out regular compliance checks.
- Produce useable reports on a daily basis to track live/up-to-date progress on compliance checks/testing alongside any follow-on remedial works required.
- Alerting the Head of Compliance & Risk to any immediate issues/concerns at the earliest opportunity.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers/contractors.

**Essential Skills & Abilities: -**
- An understanding of the "big 6" areas of compliance within block management (asbestos management, electrical safety, fire safety, gas safety, lift safety (LOLER) and water safety).
- A basic understanding of the legislation and statutory obligations accompanying the "big 6" areas of compliance.
- Ability to interpret risk assessments associated with compliance, extract any remedial actions required and instruct necessary works after approval from the Head of Compliance & Risk.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word as a minimum).
- Good time management and prioritising skills with the ability to co-ordinate a complex workload.
- Flexibility and able to demonstrate the ability to work on their own and as part of a team whenever required.

**Experience & Qualifications: -**
- Working with on-site teams, managing workloads and projects.
- Knowledge of property management-based systems (e.g., Qube, DataStation).
- Knowledge of ARMA guidelines and requirements.
- Experience in major works, section 20 consultations, fire safety and cladding remediation.
- IRPM/TPI qualification (or working towards).
