Content Writer - Leaders Team
Location: Remote (must be based in the UK)
Annual Salary: £23,000 per annum pro rata
Contract: 7-15 hours per week to suit

This is an exciting opportunity to expand your influence in school leadership and become a national thought leader in the world of education. You’ll be joining a team with wide-ranging current and past experiences in school leadership, working to create Twinkl’s online Leaders Team content for school leaders across the UK. You’ll be engaging with the fast-changing priorities of school and trust leaders to create high quality products which meet their needs, including guidance, staff training materials and tools. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your social media presence, establishing yourself as a writer and thinker at the forefront of education.
Your weekly activities could include:
- creating new resources to support school and trust leaders;
- responding to editorial feedback and working alongside editors and designers to elevate a resource to an excellent standard;
- sharing knowledge and ideas with the team to inform resource content across a range of school leadership topics; giving peer feedback;
- engaging in current research and educational issues in order to produce content that provides solutions for school and trust leaders’ current and future needs;
- making updates to existing Leaders Team resources;
- meeting with the Thought Leader team and working toward the wider team strategy.
This position is remote and the hours can be worked flexibly with the expectation that you will have good daytime availability for training, meetings, collaboration and ongoing CPD, particularly in your training period/first month. You would need to be available around our core hours (10am-2pm) Mon-Fri, on a minimum of 1 day per week?
In this role, you will learn:
- how to ideate and create thoroughly-researched, reliable, engaging and varied resources for school and trust leaders;
- how to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines;
- how to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK;
- how to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.
You’ll work with:
- Claire Williams (Line Manager)
- the Leaders Team of editors, writers and designers who produce high quality, reliable and engaging content for school and trust leaders.
- the Schools’ Thought Leadership team

**Requirements**:
We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:
- has completed qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent;
- has experience as a senior leader at a school or trust level;
- is a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
- has detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and Ofsted education inspection framework in England;
- is prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Google Suite;
- understands the school leadership community in England, knowing the unique pressures and current educational trends;
- has a drive for continuous professional development;
- has access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.
