- Pilgrims Hospices is looking for a Retail Supervisor to join the team in our Canterbury store, helping to motivate staff and volunteers; support the day-to-day running of the shop; and provide a courteous and helpful service to the public._

**The Role**

As the **Retail Supervisor** you will work as part of a team to ensure our retail shop is a successful source of income generation whilst maintaining a good rapport with the local community. Your main responsibilities will include:

- Meeting agreed financial targets.
- Maintaining effective stock management and merchandising.
- Managing and training volunteers.
- Carrying out shop administration.
- Ensuring adequate security.
- Following Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and giving training when needed.
- Implementing and ensuring the growth of our Gid Aid Scheme.

**Working Arrangements**

This is a **part-time role (21 hours per week)** and is based at Pilgrims Hospices' **Canterbury** Store. Working days will be between **Monday and Sunday**. You will need to be flexible in this role and be able to work additional hours as needed, including weekends.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will require:

- Previous retail experience.
- Experience of working in a target driven environment.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- Charity Retail experience.
- Experience of Gift Aid processes.
- Ability to make commercially informed decisions.
- Able to undertaken manual handling duties.
- A positive attitude and flexible approach.
- Previous knowledge of retail operation including stock handling and visual merchandising.

**Qualifications/Training**
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Retail Management NVQ
