Band 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation Admin Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part-time admin assistant to provide strong administrative support to the Community Cardiology Service.

You will be working as part of an administration team in a busy, friendly Community Service to support the clinical staff in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Services. You will act as a first line of contact with the patients and other Health Professionals so will be required to have a professional manner, very good communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.

You will need to manage your workload and set priorities each day as it is imperative objects are met. The role involves the use of specialized IT systems such as The National Patient Database and SystmOne for which training will be provided but a need for flexibility, accuracy and confidentiality is essential.

You must be able to work independently as well as within a team using initiative to meet the team’s deadlines.

The service is based in Hemel One in Hemel Hempstead.

To input all relevant patient data onto computer using the National Audit Database, Patient Survey’s and SystmOne for Community Cardiology patient contacts and present statistical information as required.

To deal with aspects of telephone enquiries to the Community Cardiology service

To cover Band 3 admin staff when required

Able to work on own initiative

- Take messages from answer phone and deal with them promptly and efficiently.
- Answer telephone and deal with all enquiries (Patients, Doctors etc) directing as necessary to ensure the callers needs are met.
- Deal with personal callers to the Community Cardiology administrative offices.
- Scan all documentation relating to patient treatment.
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring dispatch and delivery in a timely manner.
- Accept deliveries to the office, both internal and external, and ensure that they are dealt with appropriately.
- Operate office equipment (fax, photocopier, envelope mailer and franking machine), to support the work of the department.
